Service Delivery Platform

The DIRECT Service Centre is designed to serve thousands of companies that are created through the DIRECT Group's operations and activities.

These companies perform a wide range of activities producing products or services.

Because our stated aim is to situate production facilities at the site of consumption and halt unsustainable urbanisation, these companies will often be situated in remote or rural areas, and sometimes in isolated or conflict-ridden areas, although they are frequently found in urban areas.

We intend to service these companies centrally, because we believe that the world meltdown has been created by the incorrect structuring of companies.

In the 1960's, companies were administered internally. All functions were contained within the parent structure.

In the 1970's companies, particularly US companies, started outsourcing of "none-core” services such as component manufacture etc in order to save on costs.

Later this situation was exacerbated by the outsourcing of so-called soft functions.

As time progressed, however, the spin-offs were generating overheads that they passed on to the original company, thereby driving up costs of the final product, which were in turn passed on to the consumer.

Today, because of its centralised structure, a clothing retailer with several brands administered centrally is able to outperform a competitor with only one brand in its stable.

All DIRECT operations are administered, controlled, monitored and audited from a central service centre in Nelson Mandela Bay, allowing vast economies of scale.

Because our roots are in Nelson Mandela Bay, we hope to be the living embodiment of that great man's creed.

Mandela was the unifier of South Africa, and remains the father of the Rainbow Nation.

That phrase itself has come to mean working together towards common goals, working for the good of one's fellow being and creating a sense of identity.

Just as Mandela leapfrogged South Africa from its isolation and status as a world pariah, the DIRECT Group will leapfrog its communities out of the backward spiral of the world economy into a new, humane economic order.

Key to this strategy is centralised control, communication and monitoring.

This division is therefore responsible for the centralised delivery of services such as accounting via a unique digital platform.

The services are provided through the use of our first-to-market, highly innovative use of broadband services and scrambling technology.

All of these will be linked to the member companies spread throughout the continent via our "backbone to Africa”  delivery platform, a high-speed broadband facility.

This system compresses data, scrambles it for security purposes, and transmits it within a specialised environment, before it is decoded.

This centre will employ the best brains in their respective fields in order to facilitate the transfer of knowledge and technology to a remote location.

In this way exceptional monitoring methodologies can be employed and the best business technologies, methodologies and best practices can be implemented at source.

This allows the DIRECT Group to fulfil its primary function – to get the latest, best-of-breed technologies and methodologies to communities where they are needed, no matter how remote or underdeveloped the location.

This frees companies to concentrate on their specialities and improve on what they do best.
