Direct Life

In South Africa we have had first-hand experience of how apartheid and colonialism destroyed the soul of individuals.

Our Art of Living Model is therefore predicated on restoring dignity, hope and confidence in people. We believe that reconstruction must begin there, so that people can realise their full potential.

The DIRECT Group is dedicated to the emotional and physical health of individuals and to the advancement of spiritual practices in communities, which includes generosity and striving for excellence.

Our Art of Living Model appreciates life itself by strengthening the individual's supreme worth and inspires them to take responsibility for the society they live in.

The model promotes individual knowledge, peace and a collective quest for harmony through promoting spiritual commitment, values, goals, a sense of giving and striving for excellence.

We will assist individuals in identifying personal values, such as the meaning of true wealth – generational planning, have family around, spiritual and emotional fulfilment and being of service to one's community.

We will help them identify goals, assist them to monitor these goals and ensure that they meet their goals.

We believe communities such as tribes need to celebrate their traditions and culture, and bring back the dignity inherent in those traditions.

We believe tribal values are to be valued and revered, such as the concept of respect for elders and other authority figures.

Properly planned communities are an effective means to restore respect and dignity to elder members of communities. This is a community where there is a tradition of oral story-telling rather than watching television.

The DIRECT model this aimed at fostering a system that produces leaders, not followers, men and women of substance.

We believe in halting the rate of unsustainable urbanisation, and believe in empowering rural communities. To this end we bring production to the place of consumption.

We ensure that people in the rural areas have access to the same technology as their urban counterparts, leapfrogging these communities out of a cycle of poverty into the modern world through communication, education and trade.

Our motto is Tria Juncta in Uno, whichmeans Three Joined in One - Body, Mind and Spirit.

Our system encourages local purchasing, where everyone commits to buying produce from each other in order to support one another.

Aside from our spiritual commitment, we believe in stimulating brainpower currently stand idle and not being utilised or nurtured, through our education and training system and transfer of knowledge, and we believe health – mental and physical - is crucial to achieving the goals of our communities, which is why our system is designed to encourage physical exercise and sport.

We believe that there is a great need to get off the American treadmill, which is designed to facilitate short-term benefits at the expense of long-term growth and development.

The American treadmill provides satisfaction in a monetary form, planning in quarters whereas Asian societies think in generations. Our system encourages the concept of unity in working towards short-term, medium-term, long-term and generational goals.

Because our roots are in Nelson Mandela Bay, we hope to be the living embodiment of that great man's creed, creating tolerance and unity.

Mandela was the uniter of South Africa, and remains the father of the Rainbow Nation.

That phrase itself has come to mean working together towards common goals, working for the good of one's fellow being and creating a sense of identity.

We will strive, as Mandela, did for political and cultural tolerance, respect for one's fellow human beings, and to unite communities, tribes and nations.

Just as Mandela leapfrogged South Africa from its isolation and status as a world pariah, the DIRECT Group will leapfrog its communities out of the backward spiral of the world economy into a new, humane economic order.
